Yesterday, we did the March of Dimes March for Babies!  I don't know what it was about, but there were a lot of babies and kids there.  Personally, I thought it was cold.  It was very windy, and I was bored with it all.  I actually fell asleep in my stroller for awhile.  All we did is walk, walk, walk.  Booor-ring!!  My mom told me how important it was to walk, though.  It was to help babies who were born early, like me, and are sick, too.  I think that was a good cause.  Remember to always fight for preemies!

I'm a Year and a Half Now!!

Wow, a whole year and a half.  It went by quickly, I think.
I've graduated to the Toddler Room.  It's supposed to be some rite of passage, I guess.  My mom was getting all emotional about it.  All it means for me is a longer nap time, and more toys.  Oh, and the kids are a lot bigger than me, but that doesn't stop me!  Today I decided to steal some crackers from my friends.  I mean, there were crackers!!!  Those are my most favorite.
I have a lot of fun activities that I like to do.  I completely dislike listening, and most of the time, I don't.  On occasion, I will do it to please the 'rents, so they smile and think I'm cute. I enjoy standing on couches, chairs, and beds.  I like to drag out all of my toys in the living room.  I like opening the cabinets, and emptying out what's in there.  Most of all, I like to torture the cat.  Poe.  Hemingway is too smart; he runs from me.  But, Poe. Oh Poe.  He just takes it.  I like to hit him repeatedly with Weebles, put buckets on his head, chase him around, and I even tried stabbing him with a plastic fork the other day.  I think he's starting to get that he works for me, too.
My favorite things to say lately are "Eat, eat" when I'm hungry; "Quack quack" when I see a duck; "Hi", "Daddy" "book".
I still love to read.
That's all for now.  Catch you all on the flip side.  I'm busy!!

I'm Changing So Much!!

Oh, all the wonderful things that I can do.  I LOVE to read, and constantly make people read to me.  My favorites are "Mr Brown Can Moo, Can You?"; a first words book at home, and a book about Baby Daisy and Pluto.  I haven't seen it much lately, though.  I think my teachers are hiding it.
When people walk into my classroom at school, I yell for them to read a book.  Or, I yell "dada!" so people will look  at my picture on the family tree.  Yes, it's a picture of my dada, mama and Bailey.
I'm not sure when I'm going to start walking, but one thing's for sure.  It will be when I want to.  I randomly take steps around, trying to trick people into thinking "Today's the day!".  But it's not.  So, stay tuned.
I have 8 teeth now.  No one ever tells you how tough teething is.  It stinks.  And, those frozen plastic rings only help for a minute.
I am telling people now when I'm hungry by going to the high chair and crying.  As in "Duh, I'm hungry!  I'm next to the high chair!  Get with it!!"  I hold out my cup when I'm thirsty.  I take people's hands when I want them to do something.  And, I also hit people in the face with something I want them to play with.
I say lots of words.  Puppy, baby, muh-ma, dada, Kyleigh (sometimes), Jess, hi, what's that? and a few others.  I'm pretty good with getting my point across; just ask my parents.
My birthday party was so fun!  It was a princess theme, and my mom worked hard with my Gramma to make the cake.  Gramma made some cool decorations.  It is every girl's dream to be a princess.  I got some great toys, too.  I play with them all the time.  I also got some new clothes, so I can continue to look like a fashionista!!
Well, that's all for now.  My mom has Blogger on my phone, so she can update anytime.  Tootles.

Im A Year Old!!

I'm wondering what all the hype is about turning a year old. I mean, it's not like I can vote, drive, or drink.  I just don't get it!
My ' rents, of course, sang some song to me and made a huge deal. I did get to see my name on TV, though. Not many people can say that!
So, I'm doing lots of cute things. I can shake my head no or yes. I said "Bay" to my sister Bailey. I can hold my hand out like Im saying "what?". I now have 5 teeth. I can stand alone when I want to, and I thought about taking steps but I changed my mind. I'll do that when I'm ready. I say "Yeah" , as well as clap my hands and say "Yay!"
Stay tuned to see what I do next!

I'm Standing...and I Can't Get Down!!!

That's my life these days.  I'm still "commando" crawling mostly.  It's the quickest way to get around.  If you don't believe me, try it. I  can crawl on my hands and knees, and I'm quite good at it.  I only do it when I choose.  Crawling on one's hands and knees is------*yawn* so yesterday!!!!
My latest thing is pulling myself to standing and then screeching when I've had enough.  I can stand, but I can't get down. And why should I when I have people there willing to help me.  A couple of times I tried to scare the 'rents and fall down on my bottom.  You should have seen their faces- it was worth it!!
I am moving up in the world!  In just a couple of weeks I will be moving to the older infant room, for those of us who are not babies anymore.  I mean really, I am 9 1/2 months now.  I'm practically a toddler.
I love my food, too!  My favorite is turkey and cheese, arrowroot cookies, and banana puffs.  I totally hate pasta with sauce or pizza.  My mom says she doesn't understand where I came from with those dislikes.  I say "Neither do I, Mom, neither do I."
I am now 17 lbs, and 27 inches.  I am growing and getting heavier.
My birthday party will be August 28.  It's going to be this gala to end all galas.  My mom is totally sweating it. You'll see.

in honor of my mother's first mother's day..

Well of course if it weren't for me, my mother could not celebrate Mother's Day. I won't rub her face in it, though. :)
So, I am 8 months old now. Im pretty busy showing off all my new skills. I practice them often in my crib when I am supposed to be sleeping. My newest skill is the"commando crawl", as my mom says. Hey, Im trying to reach my toys! If I have to do it using my belly and arms, what is so funny about that? I caught them laughing at me today when I was trying to use my knees, too! Whatever. One of these days I am just going to get up and walk. Hehe
I have 2 new pearly whites! Just try sticking your fingers in my mouth!
I love all foods! Over Easter weekend, I ate rice, sweet potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes and ham. The real stuff, too. Not that jar nastiness that people call food. I think my mom and dad have a lot of nerve eating that good food in front of me!!
Anyway, I love my mom. We have fun together. We sing silly songs, and she likes to pretend to eat my feet and belly. I don't like when she leaves the room, even when she waves to me in the kitchen.
Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!
Can we raise my bedtime an hour?

I Survived The Holidays and Lived To Tell About It!!

I haven't been on in awhile.  That would be my mother's fault.  Something about returning to work full time and having her hands full.
I have been doing well in school.  I try not to spit up too much.  My teachers are smart enough to move away from my vomit now!!  Everyone likes to cuddle and talk to me, though.  My mom always pops in.  I truly get tired of seeing her face sometimes.  Can't a girl hang with her friends without her mom hanging around??
I am now 12 lbs, 3 oz.  I am also 23 3/4 inches.  The doctor says I am growing perfectly fine.  Mom says I am getting too big for my britches.
In the last month, I have begun the teething process- always a fun conversation starter.  I have also started eating rice cereal.  It's not the most tasty thing I've ever had.  It's pretty bland, and could use a little BAM!   Everyone laughs at how funny I look with cereal coming out of my mouth.  Let's see how funny you look with it splatted on your face!
I learned to roll over.  I did it twice yesterday.  Now the 'rents keep bugging me to do it all the time.  Well, I don't perform on command, so....I'll do it when I'm ready.
The holidays were pretty nice.  My older sister Ashleigh came in from Kentucky, and I spent some time with her and Bailey through this snow storm we had.
Oh, and about the snow?  Not a fan.
I got some pretty nice gifts.  It seems the adults are having more fun than me, though.  I got a Laugh n Learn Kitchen; Violet the Dog, Leap Frog piano, a talking cooking pot, and some nice books.
On New Year's Eve, I got to stay up late, but I didn't make it to see the ball drop.
My New Year's resolution is to write more, and not listen to my mother's excuses about how she's too tired or busy.
Peace out!
